Hot Skull
In a dystopian, near-future Istanbul, society has been shattered by "jabbering," a mysterious neurological epidemic that strips victims of their ability to speak coherently. The city now groans under the iron-fisted rule of the Anti-Epidemic Institution (AEI), an authoritarian regime that enforces brutal quarantine zones and suppresses the population through fear and surveillance. At the center of this chaos is Murat Siyavuş, a former linguist and AEI researcher who harbors a dangerous secret: he is immune to the disease. While exposure to jabbering triggers intense seizures and hallucinations, Murat retains his rational mind. When he discovers that his long-presumed-dead mentor, Özgür Çağlar, may still be alive in the lawless "sixth zone," Murat embarks on a perilous journey to find a cure for what he considers a curse. As he navigates this collapsing world, Murat is drawn into the orbit of "Plus 1," a resistance group fighting to expose the AEI’s history of corruption and mass killings. Pursued by the relentless AEI agent Anton Tarakçı and hunted by the ruthless Fazıl Eryılmaz—who seeks to weaponize Murat’s immunity—the linguist must choose between survival and becoming a symbol of defiance. Amidst the struggle for autonomy and the ethics of scientific control, Murat’s quest for answers becomes a desperate fight for the future of humanity.
