Set against the backdrop of mid-1990s Russia, *Dead Man’s Bluff* (2005) captures a volatile era defined by the chaotic transition to capitalism and the ruthless rise of organized crime. The story follows Sergei and Simon, two low-level, perpetually incompetent hitmen working for the local crime boss Sergei Mikhalich.
