DESCRIPTION

Boyd Mitchler is a high-strung father living in Chicago, obsessively determined to curate a perfect, magical Christmas for his two children, Douglas and Vera. However, his carefully laid plans are derailed when his brother, Nelson, insists the family travel to Wisconsin for a Christmas Eve baptism. This forced reunion brings Boyd face-to-face with his estranged, abrasive father, Mitch, and the rest of their deeply dysfunctional relatives. The holiday quickly spirals into chaos as the family dynamic frays under the weight of Mitch’s crude behavior and Nelson’s erratic personality. When Boyd and Mitch realize they’ve accidentally left Douglas’s Christmas presents back in Chicago, Boyd is forced into a desperate, overnight road trip with his father and brother to retrieve them. As they traverse the winter landscape, the trio is pushed to their breaking point, navigating long-standing emotional wounds, heated arguments, and a shocking, life-altering accident that threatens to derail their mission entirely. *A Merry Friggin' Christmas* is a frantic, darkly comedic exploration of familial obligation and the heavy burden of generational trauma. As Boyd struggles to maintain the illusion of Santa Claus for his son, he must confront the man he has spent his life trying to escape. Can this fractured family find a way to reconcile, or will the weight of their history destroy the holiday spirit for good?
