The Spanish Prisoner
Joseph Ross is a low-level employee at a company that has developed a highly valuable, proprietary industrial process. Frustrated by his employer’s refusal to compensate him for his invention, Ross finds himself in a precarious position while on a business trip to the Caribbean island of St. Estephe to present the process to potential investors. The stakes escalate when his boss, Mr. Klein, and his legal team pressure Ross to sign documents that would strip him of his rights to the process. Amidst this corporate paranoia, Ross is befriended by Julian Dell and his sister, wealthy socialites who attempt to lure him into a complex scheme. As Dell maneuvers to manipulate Ross into betraying his company, Ross discovers he is a pawn in a much larger, darker conspiracy. Caught between his employer’s demands and Dell’s mysterious agenda, Ross must navigate a web of deceit where he can no longer distinguish truth from fabrication. As he realizes he is being set up, Ross attempts to clear his name by working with an FBI agent tracking Dell. However, he soon finds himself questioning the motives of everyone around him. *The Spanish Prisoner* is a tense exploration of corporate greed and the vulnerability of the individual, set in a world where employers and government agents alike operate under false pretenses. Who can Ross trust when everyone is playing a game of shadows?
