Highwaymen

In the high-stakes thriller *Highwaymen*, the open road becomes a hunting ground for a predator hiding in plain sight. The story centers on Molly, a young woman haunted by the loss of her family in a tragic collision, who narrowly survives a hit-and-run accident in a tunnel. Her path crosses with Will Macklin, a dedicated state traffic investigator who specializes in analyzing accident scenes. Macklin carries a heavy burden: he is tracking Renford James Cray, a serial killer who uses his 1972 Cadillac El Dorado to orchestrate fatal crashes he views as art. Because these incidents occur across different jurisdictions, they appear as random, isolated tragedies to the authorities. Driven by a personal vendetta—Cray killed Macklin’s wife years ago—the investigator enlists the help of Rennie, a man with his own history with the killer. Together, they utilize forensic tire analysis and C.B. radio chatter to hunt the man who hides behind the guise of an ordinary life. When Cray kidnaps Molly, the pursuit intensifies into a desperate race against time. As Macklin closes in, he is forced to confront the psychological toll of his obsession and the moral line between justice and vengeance.
