Joyful Noise
In the small town of Pacashau, Georgia, the local church choir faces an uncertain future. Following the passing of their longtime director, the congregation is left in disarray, struggling to maintain its spirit and its finances. The church council appoints Vi Rose Hill, a woman defined by her rigid, traditional values, to lead the group. Her mission is clear: win the upcoming national gospel competition to keep the church’s doors open. However, Vi Rose finds herself at odds with the younger generation, including her own children, Olivia and Walter. The tension reaches a breaking point with the arrival of Randy, the rebellious and musically gifted grandson of a wealthy church member. Randy challenges Vi Rose’s conventional methods, advocating for a modern, high-energy sound that threatens to upend everything the choir has known. As the group falters in regional competitions, the pressure to evolve becomes impossible to ignore. Amidst a long-standing rivalry between Vi Rose and the wealthy G.G., and the personal struggles of a family waiting for a father’s return from military service, the choir must decide if they can bridge the gap between tradition and progress. Will they find the harmony needed to save their community, or will their internal conflicts silence them for good? *Joyful Noise* is a stirring exploration of faith, family, and the power of music to unite a divided town.
