Uranya

Set against the backdrop of the summer of 1969, *Uranya* captures a pivotal moment of transition for five teenage boys living in a small, tight-knit village. As they navigate the complexities of adolescence, their world is defined by a mix of big dreams, deep-seated prejudices, and the weight of local secrets. The boys are bound together by a clandestine pact: to pool their meager savings for a visit to Uranya, a beautiful and mysterious woman living in seclusion by the sea. They believe she holds the key to unlocking the mysteries of love, a journey they view as their ultimate initiation into adulthood. However, their singular focus is suddenly fractured by the arrival of a monumental global event—the impending Apollo 11 moon landing. A fierce dilemma tears through the group: should they prioritize their collective vow to seek out Uranya, or should they spend their hard-earned money on the village’s first black-and-white television to witness humanity’s giant leap? As the boys clash over their conflicting desires, the group begins to fracture, leaving one member, Achilleas, standing alone. With their bond tested and their priorities in flux, the friends must decide what truly matters as they stand on the precipice of a new era.
