DESCRIPTION

Brad and Caroline Sexton are the definition of New York City high society: wealthy, materialistic, and trapped in a crumbling, unhappy marriage. Their glamorous existence shatters overnight when Brad’s business partner commits massive tax fraud in his name. With the IRS and the relentless Inspector Derek Lester closing in, the couple’s assets are frozen, leaving them with no choice but to flee the city in a frantic, chaotic escape. Their flight leads them to the quiet, rural landscape of Pennsylvania, where they stumble upon an Amish community. Desperate to evade the authorities, the Sextons adopt new identities as "Jacob and Emma Yoder," cousins from a distant, liberal order. The transition is jarring; the couple must trade their luxury lifestyle for the austere, labor-intensive demands of farm life. As Brad struggles to master manual labor and tame a stubborn horse named Big John, and Caroline navigates the rigors of domestic chores, their incompetence and constant bickering threaten to expose their ruse. Yet, amidst the simplicity of their new surroundings, the couple begins to undergo an unexpected transformation. As they strive to maintain their cover, they are forced to confront the hollow, superficial nature of their former lives. Can these two city elites survive the culture clash, or will the mounting pressure of their deception—and the encroaching reach of the law—bring their fragile new life to a breaking point?
